What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at Actalent?
Description
● Develops technical project reports and technical memorandums
● Assist with development of project work plans
● Assist in cost estimating
● Maintains records or oversees recording of information by others to ensure engineering drawings and documents are current and that engineering-related production problems and resolutions are documented.
● Assist with quality control plans
● Inspections to ensure that it complies with plans, specifications, health and safety guidelines
● Assure the quality control plans are follow
● Assist with quality control process for submittals
● Support efforts to develop and maintain project work plans
● Communicate on task status and support internal project communication
Inspectors will often work 10 hour days, 5 days a week depending on workload and projects. There may also be occasional weekend work.
Preferred Location: Detroit, MI
Candidates may also sit within a 1 and 1/2 hour radius of Lansing, but will be driving to sites.
Travel: No overnight travel but most job sites will be in the Metro Detroit area.
Candidates will be given company vehicles with in-vehicle Wi-Fi.

2 years as a Construction Inspector
Preferred Certifications and Training include:
o Storm Water Operation Certification
o Michigan Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) – Comprehensive Certification
o MDOT Density Technology Certification
o Michigan Concrete Field Testing – MCA – Level 1 Minimum
o MDOT Aggregate Technician Certification
o MDOT Material Acceptance Process Seminar
o MDOT Bridge Deck Construction Inspection & Bridge Rehabilitation Inspection
o MDOT Concrete Inspection Certification
o MDOT Hot Mix Asphalt (Bituminous) Paving Certification
The more certifications the better!
The candidate must also have a clean driving record.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
