Job Description
- Work under supervision of a Resident Engineer, Project Manager
- Serve as Project Inspector on construction projects
- Oversee daily inspection of work performed by the contractor
- Record daily construction activities, quantities, contractor’s equipment and on-site personnel
- Attending and facilitating construction progress meetings
- Schedule and review material testing and make sure results are per project requirements and specifications
- Provide civil engineering drafting support (Bridge/Site/Roadway/Traffic) as necessary
- Obtain and maintain safety certifications and client pre-qualifications (ODOT/OTIC)
Essential Skills
- 1 year of construction inspection experience OR 2 years working in the construction trades OR vocational school/associate degree
- Experience in construction, bridge inspection is a plus
- Proficiency in concrete and asphalt inspection
- Must have a clean driving record
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Certifications in ODOT Project inspection
- NICET Construction Certification
- Familiarity with AutoCad and Microstation is a plus
- ODOT certification is a plus
Work Environment
This is an on-site job that involves going to different sites to inspect and record findings. Some travel is involved but most travel is local within 1.5 hours. The work hours are from 8-5pm with flexibility, and overtime is very possible during the busy season. The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
