Job Title: Construction Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Manager to join our team for a capital improvements project in Charlottesville, VA. As a Construction Manager, you will serve as a facilities construction inspector and project controls manager, also known as a 'Clerk of the Works' (COTW). You will be a representative of the Owner and responsible for performing various duties, observations, and services to ensure the successful completion of the project. This role offers the opportunity to join a two-year project with potential for vertical growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the facilities construction inspector and project controls manager.
• Act as a representative of the Owner, ensuring all duties, observations, and services are performed accurately.
• Conduct construction inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Read and interpret building plans and drawings.
• Perform administrative duties in support of the Project Inspector.
• Facilitate continuous improvement throughout the construction process.
• Manage data entry and clerical tasks related to the project.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction and construction inspection.
• Proficiency in reading building plans and drawings.
• Knowledge of building codes.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Strong project management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Good clerical and communication skills.
• Understanding of the construction and submittal process.

Work Environment

This role requires daily onsite presence in Charlottesville, VA. The work environment involves active construction sites, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment. The position offers the chance to work with a long-term client and provides opportunities for career growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.37 - $52.28/hr.
