Job Title: Construction Materials Technician - Dallas, Texas

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Materials Technician to join our Field Division. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of experience in testing and inspecting construction materials, specifically concrete and soils, on-site. This role involves working at various local job sites, using tools to collect samples of concrete, soils, and aggregates, and performing tests such as breaking cylinders and running proctors.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site testing and inspection of concrete and soils.
• Collect samples of construction materials, including concrete, soils, and aggregates.
• Perform tests such as breaking cylinders and running proctors.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Travel to different job sites with necessary tools and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of tests and inspections.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of experience in the construction materials and geotechnical field.
• Experience with ACI Certification and on-site concrete and soils testing.
• Ability to break cylinders and run proctors.
• Knowledge of CMT, soils, concrete inspection, geotechnical procedures, and field technician duties.
• Valid ACI Level 1 Field Certification or equivalent certifications (ICC, ACI, NICET, TXAPA).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with nuclear gauge testing.
• Other relevant certifications from third-party independent certifiers that require written and/or performance exams.

Work Environment

This role is 100% field-based, requiring the candidate to work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat, rain, and cold. The work hours range from 40-70 hours per week, with the possibility of early morning pours at 1 or 2 am. Candidates must be comfortable with the physical demands of fieldwork and the varying hours.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
