Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Continuous Improvement Engineer to optimize our manufacturing processes. You will analyze current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. This role involves cross-functional collaboration, data analysis, and the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze current workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvement strategies.
- Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collect and interpret data to measure process performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments (production, quality, supply chain, etc.) to implement process improvements.
- Lead and manage continuous improvement projects from inception to execution.
- Educate employees on best practices, process improvements, and Lean methodologies.
- Investigate issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and ensure continuous enhancement of processes.
- Identify opportunities to implement automation and digital solutions for process efficiency.
- Develop and execute strategies to reduce waste, improve resource utilization, and lower operational costs.
Essential Skills
- 3 years of experience as a Continuous Improvement Engineer.
- Bachelor of Science in a technical field is preferred. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience in working with operations to enable cost savings and product quality improvement.
- Proven experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar.
- Excellent project management abilities with a track record of successfully leading improvement initiatives.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of tooling and time studies.
- Strong data collection and analysis skills to identify areas for improvement.
- Familiarity with automation and technology integration for process efficiency.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a recently remodeled, extremely clean manufacturing facility with a game room area. The work environment is fast-paced, with 70% of the time spent on the floor collecting data and 30% at a desk doing analysis. You will gain valuable experience overseeing a manufacturing process that directly impacts lives. The process involves compressing piles of materials to form helmet shapes, a skill that can be taught on the job.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
