Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer to join our growing team in Holland. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of projects from start to finish, including design, programming, and final launch to customers. This role offers the opportunity to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with occasional travel to support other locations.

Responsibilities

• Assess the Bill of Materials (BOM) for each project.
• Design control systems from scratch using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Write PLC code from scratch, primarily in Allen-Bradley and Schneider Electric PLCs.
• Oversee panel build and assembly with the team.
• Work with servo drives, VFDs, sensing equipment, and actuators.
• Utilize Ethernet/IP and CANOpen communication methods.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79, ANSI B11, and ISO safety standards.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance as needed.
• Travel locally and occasionally internationally (15-20% travel).

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in writing PLC code from scratch in Allen-Bradley and Schneider Electric PLCs.
• Experience in designing control systems using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of servo drives, VFDs, sensing equipment, and actuators.
• Familiarity with Ethernet/IP and CANOpen communication methods.
• Understanding of NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79, ANSI B11, and ISO safety standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience (5 years).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with robotics, specifically Fanuc.
• Certification in safety standards (NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79, ANSI B11, ISO).

Work Environment

The facility consists of a panel build shop floor and office space. There are occasional visits to a nearby location with a similar setup. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00
