Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are looking to hire a Controls Engineer for a 6 month contract. The project has been in the design and build phase for the past 3-4 months and now focuses on fine-tuning the process rather than development. This role offers an opportunity to work on interesting and state-of-the-art equipment in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting, specifically with Allen Bradley systems.
• Conduct machine check-outs and work with robotics, motion control, and machine vision.
• Engage in the fine-tuning process of custom automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical/control/software issues.
• Document technical processes and maintain strong organizational skills.
• Collaborate with a large team of multiple stakeholders.
• Set up and maintain PCs and Microsoft SQL Servers.
• Perform hands-on system setup, including mechanical and electrical adjustments.

Essential Skills

• 5 years of Allen Bradley Studio 5000 programming experience, including Safety PLC programming.
• 2 years of experience with VFD Drives.
• 5 years of Talk View SE programming experience.
• 2 years of PC setup and maintenance experience.
• 2 years of Microsoft SQL Server setup and maintenance experience.
• Experience in troubleshooting large-scale machines.
• Strong organizational and technical documentation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with a large team of multiple stakeholders.
• Comfortable with operating and troubleshooting large-scale machines.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical items along with electrical/controls/software items.

Work Environment

This role is located at a customer site in Northern Seattle. The work schedule is on-site Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm. The individual will spend a significant amount of time working with the machine on the floor, performing all controls-related activities for the machine.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
