Our client, a leader in pharmaceutical manufacturing, is seeking an early career Manufacturing/Controls Engineer to join their team in Plattsburgh, NY!
Job Description
The engineering department provides solutions from new equipment to re-tooling and redeployment of existing assets. It supports the operational groups through cross-functional teams where troubleshooting, root cause analysis, FMEA, TPM, and other manufacturing-related interventions are required. The Controls Engineer will develop, specify, procure, and implement capital projects involving new equipment required to further manufacture products once they have been molded.
Responsibilities
- Specify and procure new manufacturing equipment.
- Design and develop all aspects of electrical control systems for automated machinery and robotics.
- Program PLCs with familiarity in Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, or Omron preferred.
- Develop new manufacturing equipment with vendors.
- Specify electrical components, design, and document machine electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Apply knowledge of Cartesian, 6 Axis robot, continuous and indexed automation.
- Manage equipment installation and retooling projects.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems to determine root cause.
- Manage 'new product development' secondary operation designs from concept through completion.
- Create CAD drawings for CNC machining and fabrication, BOM, and assembly prints.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing position with production equipment familiarity.
- B.S. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience with equipment procurement and vendor management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead equipment and equipment improvement projects to successful completion (on time, within budget, production capable).
- Willingness to be hands-on with equipment and machine upgrades.
- Ability to manipulate 2D equipment drawings and plant layouts.
Work Environment
Manufacturing setting in Plattsburgh, NY with approximately 470 employees, including about 35 in engineering (molding, automation, tooling)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
