Cyber Security Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will support the evaluation and security of complex systems, networks, and architectures, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and policies. Responsibilities
- Supporting the evaluation of system design using model based systems engineering tools, supporting vulnerability analysis of systems, participation in component trade studies, and system security cyber certification support.
- Candidate may perform analysis and evaluation to design, implement, test and secure systems, networks, and architectures.
- Conduct certification and testing in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) policy.
Qualifications
- Experience with implementation and administration of networking solutions (Arista Preferred).
- Experience with containerization and container hardening (Pod man, Docker, Kubernetes preferred)
- Experience configuring and maintaining firewalls and access control lists.
- Experience with virtualization to include hypervisor implementation and administration.
- Experience architecting and engineering secure systems and solutions.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems and CLI (RHEL preferred).
- Bash, perl, python and other scripting experience.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, knowledge of RMF, NIST, and other govt., DoD, standards, policies and frameworks.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to perform root cause analysis and define preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences.
- Ability to effectively evaluate different security solutions (for example IPSEC vs TLS) and provide recommendations on the solution best aligned with overall system design, impact, and programmatic objectives.
- Ability to effectively document complex solutions in an easily understood and concise manner.
- Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $64.00/hr.
