Job Title: Designer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced designer who can work independently to support electric and gas utility projects. This role requires a designer capable of handling a variety of projects with little to no training. The Design Team Lead will manage projects related to both residential and commercial customers, ensuring adherence to Exelon standards. The ideal candidate will also lead a design team internally.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the design team to assist with daily project administration, plan, and profile design packages for gas and electric projects.
• Lead a team of drafters and designers by assigning workload, performing design reviews, answering questions, and mentoring junior design and drafter support staff.
• Apply drawings in accordance with Exelon standards for design packages.
• Submit drafting/design plans within scheduled windows.
• Communicate project updates to engineering management and client stakeholders.
• Adhere to client timelines and quality milestones for each project.
• QA/QC New Business projects that your design team will be responsible for completing

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Microstation and/or AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Asset Suite 8
• Strong understanding of drafting and design principles specific to the utility industry.
• Experience with gas design, electrical design, and power distribution.
• Ability to support and lead other drafters and designers on the team.
• Familiarity with project management and design review.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting Exelon-related projects.
• Ability to interface with client engineering teams through proper written and verbal communication.
• Being a team player and flexible to work on various projects as needed.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily remote with an in-office setup. Initially, individuals will start off working 5 days per week, with the potential to earn hybrid flexibility. Candidates requiring hybrid flexibility from the start can be considered. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr.
