Job Description
This position is responsible for planning, engineering, and designing electric and gas distribution systems. You will determine the need, size, location, and timing of power delivery infrastructure development to balance economic, environmental, social, and regulatory constraints and reliability needs. Duties include developing work packages for overhead and underground residential distribution, underground cable/conduit field engineering, identifying conflicting utilities, performing engineering and design calculations, and conducting post-construction reviews. You will work under supervision on less complex projects and assignments, solving routine technical problems following established procedures and policies.
Responsibilities
- Develop work packages for overhead and underground residential distribution

- Conduct engineering and design calculations
- Perform post-construction reviews
- Communicate with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices
- Work on day-to-day objectives with limited impact beyond the scope of own work area/project team
Essential Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (EE or CE preferred) or equivalent experience
- 0-2 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree
- Associates Degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience will be considered
- Experience working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company
- Proficiency in using CAD tools
- Comfortable working in both field and office settings
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to walk up to 2 miles on unpaved surfaces
- Reliable transportation
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
- Familiarity with PoleForeman, SAP, Microstation
- Fundamentals of Engineer certification
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Collaborative and inclusive of individuals from diverse backgrounds and geographic locations

Work Environment
The typical workweek includes 10%-20% field inspections, 60%-80% engineering and development of design packages for construction crews, and 10% performing administrative tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up. You will be in the office 2-3 days per week, with the other days being remote.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr.
