Job Title: Electrical Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer with expertise in 2D and 3D CAD/BIM techniques to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a fundamental working knowledge of structural drawing layout, detailing, and drafting of structural solutions. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency and the ability to work collaboratively within a project team.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural design layouts and drawings from sketches provided by engineers and sr design staff.
• Assist in the preparation of structural specifications, estimates, and material lists with guidance from project engineers or project managers.
• Demonstrate a fundamental working knowledge of structural drawing layout, detailing, and drafting of structural solutions.
• Develop 2D drawing views from 3D structural models and complete detailing and annotation.
• Assist in quality checking of drafted products to ensure conformance with drawing production standards and project-specific CAD/BIM requirements.
• Utilize advanced knowledge in the use of ProjectWise and MicroStation 2D.
• Apply working knowledge of water, wastewater, and infrastructure design.
• Convert data between MicroStation and other design platforms.

Essential Skills

• 3 years of experience in electrical design.
• Expertise in BIM/Revit.
• Advanced proficiency in 2D CAD using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD/BIM techniques using MicroStation, OpenBuildings, or Revit Structure software applications.
• Familiarity with AISC weld symbols and their application.
• Fundamental knowledge of 3D structural modeling for concrete, masonry, and steel structures using OpenBuilding or Revit Structure applications.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in engineering or a related field.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work environment with the flexibility to work from home or the office. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with the first 2-3 weeks of training conducted in the office. The office is open for those who prefer to work onsite, but remote work is encouraged and supported. The role may require occasional monthly meetings in the office. Candidates must be comfortable with a home office setup and have the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
