Electrical Designer
Job Description
Our client designs and engineers natural gas piping and compressor/metering stations for the midstream natural gas industry.
Responsibilities
- Design physical layouts for grounding, duct bank, conduit, cable tray, and lighting.
- Plan and develop a full range of drawing deliverables such as one-lines, motor schematics, hazardous areas, grounding, duct bank, lighting, power, cable tray, installation details, and section/elevations.
- Perform calculations for grounding, duct bank, conduit, cable tray, and lighting.
- Follow all company, client, and project design and drafting standards.
- Execute, organize, and maintain project revisions to designs and drawings in a logical and well-structured manner.
- Interpret and apply design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
- Review design deliverables for quality assurance within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Incorporate schedules, budgets, and project criteria into electrical design and layouts.
- Coordinate drafting and design efforts with both internal and external clients and vendors.
- Keep the design manager, design leads, and affected project managers informed of any changes that may influence resource requirements and/or the ability to meet the project schedule.
- Actively participate in lessons learned initiatives to identify and implement process and project improvement opportunities.
- Obtain and maintain proficiency in AutoCAD platforms and programs associated with piping layout and design.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience in electrical drafting and design
- Experience with utility projects (gas or electric)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in distribution, natural gas, pipeline, power distribution, electrical design, and AutoCAD electrical
- Practical understanding of electrical equipment, components, and systems within the oil and gas industry
- General understanding of math, geometry, and algebra as it applies to drawing production
Work Environment
- The work environment is a medium-sized engineering office with 35-50 people, including field staff, engineers, and project managers.
- The role offers a hybrid work structure, allowing for 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
- There is flexibility for non-local candidates who may need a more remote arrangement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
