Electrical Engineer - Project Engineer
Job Description
The main function of an electrical engineer is to design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. A typical electrical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
- Evaluate the cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety of certain design models.
- Estimate time and cost to complete projects.
- Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
- Investigate and test vendors' and competitors' products.
Essential Skills
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail-oriented.
- Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
- Ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards, and apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
- Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to the engineering field.
- Proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling and routing wire harnesses.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in system design, electrical system, wire harness design, electrical engineering, and electrical design.
- Experience with AutoCAD, schematic design, and engineering.
- Proficiency in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Familiarity with Teamcenter.
- Experience with fluid lines, ideally within off-highway equipment systems.
- Background in the off-road equipment industry (e.g., Deere or similar).
- Experience supporting cost roll-ups, design reviews, or creating PowerPoint presentations.
Work Environment
The role involves working with advanced technologies and equipment. The work hours are typical for engineering roles and may require flexibility depending on project demands. The position entails working in a professional office setting with access to necessary design and simulation software. Dress code is business casual, aligning with the professional atmosphere of the engineering field.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.67/hr.
