Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Lafayette, IN

Job Description

The main function of an Electrical Engineer is to design, develop, execute, and complete electrical system testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test new electrical products for generator sets.
• Evaluate the cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety of certain design models.
• Conduct electrical tests in the test stand.
• Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
• Investigate and test vendors' and competitors' products.

• Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
• Ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards.
• Ability to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
• Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to the engineering field.
• Knowledge of safe work and test practices.
• Knowledge of generator set electrical components like alternators, controls, circuit breakers, transformers, and test measurement systems like National Instruments.
• Experience with relevant computer applications like Microsoft Office.
• Experience with various test equipment like multimeters, soldering/harnessing, strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure transducers, proximity probes, telemetry, DAQ systems, and hand tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, EET, or a similar field.
• 0-2 years of experience required.
• Experience with hands-on execution of testing electrical systems.
• Experience utilizing test tools such as multimeters, signal generators, data acquisition systems, circuit testers, and National Instruments TestStand.
• Experience working in a lab/testing environment.
• Operational and/or test knowledge of generator sets and/or engines.
• Strong electrical and mechanical experience.
• Experience working on a team.

Work Environment

The position is onsite at a supplier in Monticello, IN, working hands-on in a test lab or development lab environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
