Job Description

The main function of an electrical engineer is to design, develop, test, or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. A typical electrical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
• Evaluate the cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety of certain design models.
• Estimate time and cost to complete projects.
• Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
• Investigate and test vendors' and competitors' products.

Essential Skills

• Team player and detail-oriented.
• Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
• Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
• Ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards.
• Ability to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
• Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to the engineering field.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 5-7 years of experience in system design, electrical system, wire harness design, electrical engineering, and electrical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Creo for 3D modeling and routing wire harnesses.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Former CAT experience or familiarity with Teamcenter.
• Experience with fluid lines, ideally within related systems.
• Proficiency in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Experience in the off-road equipment industry.
• Experience supporting cost roll-ups, design reviews, or creating PowerPoint presentations.

The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, requiring the use of various technologies and equipment. The job may involve working on-site or in an office setting, and the dress code is typically business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.67/hr.
