Job Title: Technician

Job Description

Support project by executing chemical and petroleum lab scale experiments. Build up test equipment, compile and report test data. Work with engineers to generate mass balances and perform sample collection. Training will be provided by a lead engineer. Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Candidate must be able to disassemble and rebuild equipment as changes are made to the pilot plant. Ability to read drawings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute chemical and petroleum lab scale experiments.
• Build up test equipment and compile/report test data.
• Work with engineers to generate mass balances and perform sample collection.
• Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Disassemble and rebuild equipment as changes are made to the pilot plant.
• Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, mechanical and electrical equipment, including process demonstration units, pumps, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Assist in the safe start-up, operation, and shutdown of plant equipment from outside the control room.
• Visually inspect and listen to equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
• Assist with operations of plant using SCADA software (training will be provided).

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude
• Sample collecting
• Equipment troubleshooting
• Ability to read schematics
• Experience with MS Office
• Knowledge of tubing and pipe-fittings
• Understanding of basic fluid flow, gas flow, and pressure

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Experience with Excel for reporting
• Willingness to work overtime and shift work

Work Environment

The work environment includes both inside and outside work. Shift work and overtime may be required. Training for operations and mass balance generation will be provided. The role involves working with SCADA software and requires the ability to read AutoCAD drawings. The candidate must be comfortable performing maintenance and troubleshooting on various types of equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00
