Job Title: QC Technologist
Job Description
The QC Technologist will be responsible for performing aseptic techniques, including aseptic gowning and working in cleanrooms to monitor sterile product manufacturing. The individual will work on a rotating schedule from 6 AM to 6 PM, following a 2-2-3 shift pattern.
Responsibilities
- Perform analyses using instrumental and automated methods according to prescribed procedures and techniques.
- Generate valid data, report results in the appropriate database, and compare findings with established specifications while adhering to GMPs.
- Evaluate laboratory results against specifications for acceptability and determine if repetition or out-of-specification (OOS) actions are required.
- Maintain equipment and troubleshoot instrumentation, procedural, or production problems.
- Review and understand SOPs and analytical procedures as needed.
- Schedule activities to meet target dates for customer needs.
- Follow all job-related safety and other training requirements.
- Perform tasks as assigned by area supervision or designee.
- Withstand extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and other physical activities.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma with laboratory work in a science discipline. An associate's degree in a science-related field, preferably Biology, is preferred.
- 1 year of related experience performing lab bench work, including utilizing instrumentation and reporting data.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong organization and detailed planning skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures.
- Good knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmaceutical GMPs.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to apply mathematical operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant post-secondary educational courses are considered.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment is beneficial.
Work Environment
The position is primarily focused on production line support, which involves standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and crouching for prolonged periods. The job requires lifting, carrying, and moving weights of 25-50 pounds, and occasionally pushing or pulling 50-100 pounds. Dexterity in arms, hands, and fingers is necessary, including the ability to grasp and type for extended periods. Visual acuity is required to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods. The role also requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination to move about the environmental lab. The position is contingent-based and operates Sunday through Saturday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
