Job Title: Environmental Engineer - Entry Level

Job Description

Perform environmental sampling, monitoring, and data collection. Support construction observation and documentation to ensure compliance with design and regulatory standards. Collect and manage construction material samples and survey data. Travel to project sites as required. Develop environmental compliance reports and regulatory documents. Evaluate how various end-use materials and wastes are managed throughout the State. Collaborate on the design and permitting of waste diversion and waste management facilities, such as compost facilities, landfills, and transfer stations. Assist in calculations and technical designs for waste management and remediation projects. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, laboratories, and regulators. Create or review CAD drawings (AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience a plus). Research technical data and regulatory standards to support project needs. Write proposals, bid documents, and health & safety plans.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geological Engineering.
• 0 to 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with stormwater sampling, landfill, soil sampling, and report writing.
• Experience in geology, field work, solid waste, site assessment, and groundwater sampling.
• Knowledge in Environmental Science and AutoCAD.

Work Environment

This role is based in the Naperville office, where you will work closely with a team of five individuals. The office culture is very close-knit and supportive, with a strong focus on professional growth and development. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in the office and 20% in the field. Field services may require occasional overnight stays. The company vehicle is available for use, and travel expenses will be reimbursed. The role requires a passion for sustainability and the outdoors, with a particular interest in landfill projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $51.92/hr.
