Job Title: Environmental Field Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Environmental Field Technician in Miami. The Environmental Field Technician will work with scientists and engineers on various land redevelopment, electric utility, remediation, chemical/petroleum spill, and municipal solid waste landfill projects. The technician must follow regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and company protocols, exercise independent judgment, and complete tasks and projects with minimal direction from management.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain groundwater remediation systems
• Oversee well installation
• Conduct groundwater sampling
• Conduct surface water sampling
• Conduct soil sampling - stockpile and soil blending
• Monitor air and vapor
• Prepare field notes
• Perform surveying tasks

Essential Skills

• Experience with environmental remediation field work
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting machine parts and basic electrical work
• Experience with operation and maintenance of groundwater remediation systems
• Experience with groundwater sampling and soil sampling
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Strong communication skills
• Great attention to detail
• Solid judgment
• Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time

Work Environment

You will work in outdoor conditions. You will receive work assignments from Project Managers and administratively report to an assigned supervisor. Tasks may be performed independently or in conjunction with other staff. You will pick up equipment from the office, drive to assigned sites, and work independently. You will need to carry equipment (25lb cooler and samples, shovel, hand auger, etc.) across large sites that require a lot of walking. A company or rental vehicle will be provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00
