Job Title: Environmental Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced environmental professional with a background in soil sampling to oversee various projects between New Jersey and New York City. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in sampling or working at an environmental consulting firm.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contractors and excavators
• Conduct field sampling as needed
• Perform soil sampling
• Write detailed reports
• Develop and follow material handling plans
• Execute plans set by the project manager
• Measure out cells and stake them on the site
• Assist samplers as needed
• Ensure attention to detail and clear, well-written communication

Essential Skills

• Experience in soil sampling
• OSHA 40-hour certification
• Environmental science background
• Geology knowledge
• Experience in construction and environmental remediation
• HAZWOPER certification

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Health and safety background
• In-situ soil treatment experience
• Proficiency in report writing

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, on various sites depending on project needs. The role requires being the eyes and ears on-site, ensuring all activities comply with project plans and safety regulations. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
