Job Title: Estimator

Job Description

Our client, a General Contractor and Construction Management company, is seeking a commercial construction estimator. The company specializes in Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Retail, and Multi-Family building construction. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Metro Detroit. The Estimator will be responsible for gathering and analyzing project data, preparing cost estimates, collaborating with project teams, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring accurate project pricing. Additionally, the Estimator will review project scopes, conduct monthly site visits, and assist in bid submissions.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze project data to prepare cost estimates
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate project pricing
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
• Review project scopes and prepare hard/fixed price bids
• Conduct monthly site visits to monitor project progress
• Assist in bid submissions and ensure all documentation is accurate

Essential Skills

• 5 years of commercial estimating experience
• Experience estimating projects ranging from $3-$10 million
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience writing scopes and preparing hard/fixed price bids
• Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Planswift

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar field
• Proficiency using Planswift software

Work Environment

The role is fully on-site in a newly renovated building, with each estimator having their own office. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility in start and end times. Typically, employees leave an hour early on Fridays. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
