Job Title: Field Inspector/Construction Observer

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Project Representative/Construction Observer for a multi-year lead service line replacement project at a water treatment plant. The projects are located in Milwaukee and Racine. The successful candidate will perform construction inspection for 'outside fence' projects.

Responsibilities

• Observe construction personnel working on assigned areas of the construction site.
• Ensure construction work matches construction plans.
• Identify deficiencies in constructed structures.
• Review contract terms and conditions.
• Ensure construction timelines, costs, and materials are in compliance with contract terms and conditions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
• Review the work of junior staff.
• Document deficiencies, expected cost overruns, materials issues, and any other related construction issues or risks.
• Prepare related reports such as monthly progress reports.
• Maintain a daily report of construction activities.
• Communicate construction issues to project leadership.
• Escalate issues to appropriate design staff for resolution.
• Communicate issue resolution to appropriate construction staff and close the loop with project leadership when documented issues are resolved.

Essential Skills

• 2 years of experience in construction observation, construction inspection, or construction management.
• Experience on water treatment or wastewater plant projects is a plus.
• Ability to read construction plans.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
