Field Service Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to install, repair, and test laser and dot peen marking systems. This role involves frequent travel to customer sites and requires strong technical skills in PLC, automation machines, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and test laser and dot peen marking systems.
- Educate customers on the technologies offered and how to best integrate marking systems into their manufacturing processes.
- Travel frequently to customer sites to provide onsite installation and support (approximately 80% of the time).
- Conduct onsite product demonstrations and assist the sales department with presentations.
- Perform engineering assessments to determine the best solutions for the customer.
- Communicate with internal teams and customers via phone and email.
- Demonstrate laser equipment and conduct performance testing of products prior to shipping as needed.
Essential Skills
- Experience with PLC and automation machines.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field with at least two years of experience; Or, an Associate’s Degree with at least six years of experience.
- Ability to travel frequently (approximately 80% of the time).
- Valid driver’s license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to participate in safety trainings and/or certifications provided by the company or customers.
Work Environment
Ability to sit remotely in Pittsburgh, Ohio, or Michigan. The role requires 80% travel to customer sites, typically traveling Monday through Thursday and working remotely on Fridays.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
