Job Description

Seeking an Aerial GIS Technician to support OSP aerial design and services. The role involves collecting field data on poles and their locations for use in aerial design. Responsibilities include taking pictures of existing poles, equipment, and cables, as well as identifying cable owners. Additionally, the technician will collect permitting activities for cities, counties, and other permitting agencies, attend site walks, and obtain materials summaries. Occasionally, assistance with OSP design work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with OSP design work as needed.

Essential Skills

• OSP aerial support/field work (0-1 years of experience)
• Field work experience (1 years) in landscape, construction, land surveying, or utility locating
• Proficiency in GIS
• Knowledge of AutoCAD

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Telecom experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous travel experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.

Work Environment

This position requires working in the field the majority of the time, so comfort in various outdoor conditions is necessary. Travel is required from Monday to Friday, primarily around Northern MN, starting in the Duluth area but potentially in other states. Monday mornings will start at the Woodbury office to pick up the company vehicle before driving to the job site. Project worksites are generally within 60-90 minutes of the Twin Cities area, though this distance may vary. Future projects may involve travel across the country. The technician will work closely with one other individual in the field on a daily basis.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
