Field Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Field Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing samples from job sites, such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry. You will transport samples with their identifying documentation to the lab for further testing, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports to the project manager daily. Additionally, you will perform inspections on reinforced concrete, structural masonry, spray-applied fireproofing, and roofing.
Responsibilities
- Test samples from job sites including soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry.
- Transport samples with identifying documentation to the lab for further testing.
- Submit data and observations in written and digital reports to the project manager daily.
- Perform inspections on reinforced concrete, structural masonry, spray-applied fireproofing, and roofing.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant experience or equivalent in training and related experience.
- Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Skills in soil sampling, construction, concrete, nuclear density gauge, sediment transport, aggregates, concrete testing, asphalt, steel, construction materials, environmental science, construction, engineering, geotechnical, and laboratory experience.
Work Environment
- Employee-owned company with shared stake.
- Continued safety training and progress within the company.
- Work outside in various conditions on construction job sites (hard hat provided).
- Hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime.
- Individual work with check-ins with the project manager before each shift ends.
- Dress code: work boots, jeans, and t-shirt.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
