Job Title: Field Technician (Fielder)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Technician (Fielder/Distribution Technician) to join our team. The successful candidate will obtain field measurements and data from existing utility poles. This role involves visually identifying, inspecting, and recording equipment and structures in the right-of-way, as well as taking detailed field photos that tie directly to engineering and planning software. The Field Technician will also correlate route maps and field photos directly to time stamps and field locations, and record attributes and current conditions of overhead and ground-level utility structures. This position requires maintaining consistent quality data while achieving our production standards, using measuring equipment and SLR cameras to establish a photo record, and planning and executing daily goals while meeting quality, time, and budget constraints.

Responsibilities

• Perform field audits of existing utility poles
• Visually identify, inspect, and record equipment and structures in the right-of-way.
• Take detailed field photos that tie directly to engineering/planning software.
• Correlate route map and field photos directly to time stamps and field locations.
• Record attributes and current conditions of overhead and ground-level utility structures.
• Maintain consistent quality data while achieving production standards.
• Use measuring equipment and SLR cameras to establish a photo record.
• Execute and plan daily goals while meeting quality, time, and budget constraints.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of previous fielding experience.
• Experience in telecommunications and electrical distribution activities.
• Proficiency in using measuring equipment and SLR cameras.
• Ability to perform detailed inspections and record data accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous Katapult experience preferred.
• Experience correlating route maps with field photos.
• Attention to detail and high standards for data quality.

Work Environment

The role involves travel from Monday to Friday, mostly day trips with occasional overnight travel expected. The technician will travel throughout Ohio mainly focused in the surrounding Cleveland & Columbus area. Mileage for work will be compensated at the federal maximum rate of 70 cents per mile.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
