Firmware Engineer - Verification

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to work with Software Engineering and Hardware Engineering teams to bring next-generation wireless audio intercom communication systems to market. This position is responsible for design verification and validation testing of new products prior to market release. The duties of a successful team member include developing test plans, procedures, test automation, and performing validation testing on software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute verification test plans, test cases, and test procedures from system and software level requirements.
• Write reports on test results.
• Create both manual and computer-scripted test procedures.
• Create and manage software and electrical test fixtures.
• Perform integration, software application, and component level testing with an ability to troubleshoot and triage failures at the system level.
• Lead verification activities and be responsible for project-level verification deliverables.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Python, bash, and C/C to support test procedure creation and interaction with the device under test.
• Experience programming in Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of RF Calibration, RF power/waveform testing, link quality testing, audio latency testing, and system availability characterization.
• Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy.
• Knowledge of end-to-end wireless network system architecture from the physical layer to application endpoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferred knowledge of DECT wireless standard. 900MHz/Zigbee is acceptable.
• Multiple access knowledge preferred (TDMA, CDMA, etc.).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related work experience.
• 8 years of experience with lab equipment and software, such as Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Protocol analyzers, Wireshark.
• 8 years of experience programming C/C , Python, and bash.
• Experience in wireless communication systems or digital signal processing.

Work Environment

You will work in an engineering environment utilizing lab equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and Protocol analyzers. The role involves programming in both Windows and Linux environments. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams in both software and hardware engineering.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
