Job Title: FPGA Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Developer to join our team working on high-end computing modules for image processing applications in automation and autonomy. The role involves taking images and using them to control various functions on the device, including updates on handling image ingress and manipulation for different applications. The candidate will help develop solutions for cutting-edge automated agricultural applications such as forward-looking cameras, crop density analysis, obstacle intelligence (autobraking, steering), and spout aiming for offloading into carts.
Responsibilities
- Develop FPGA solutions for high-end computing modules in image processing applications.
- Handle image ingress and manipulation for various automated applications.
- Work on forward-looking cameras, crop density analysis, obstacle intelligence, and spout aiming for offloading into carts.
- Technically comprehend and develop compute architectures using an FPGA.
- Generate and synthesize Verilog/VHDL code.
- Develop and implement FPGA constraints, place and route, and perform timing analysis.
- Adapt digital design to vehicle and/or fixed equipment applications.
- Perform complex engineering work using standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Devise new approaches to engineering problems and perform assignments with general instruction.
- Direct the work of other engineers, aides, or technicians.
- Interface with customers independently.
- Communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
Essential Skills
- Experience as an individual contributor in FPGA development.
- Proficiency in Verilog and VHDL.
- Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado/AMD Tool Chain.
- Ability to develop compute architectures using an FPGA.
- Understanding of Verilog/VHDL code generation and synthesis.
- Ability to develop and implement FPGA constraints, place and route, and timing analysis.
- Ability to adapt digital design to vehicle and/or fixed equipment applications.
- Ability to perform complex engineering work using standard techniques.
- Capability to devise new approaches to problems.
- Experience directing the work of other engineers, aides, or technicians.
- Ability to interface with customers without supervisor guidance.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience in logic design using FPGA, CLPD, or other programmable logic devices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Camera ingress and image ingress pipeline experience.
- Experience with simulation tools and test processes.
- Experience with compute performance of various AI/ML algorithms.
- Experience with AXI4 or similar bus infrastructure.
- Experience with various video protocols such as MIPI CSI.
- Experience with control algorithms.
- Experience designing to harsh environmental specifications.
- Experience with 8, 16, or 32-bit microcontrollers.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $63.00 - $71.00/hr.
