Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Designer to serve as the lead plumbing engineer on assigned projects. This role requires drafting technical documentation using AutoCAD and Revit, performing equipment and system sizing technical calculations, and reviewing submittals and shop drawings. The ideal candidate will have strong plumbing and fire protection systems design experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead plumbing engineer on assigned projects.
• Draft technical documentation utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform equipment and system sizing technical calculations.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and design documentation.
• Implement and interpret plumbing and sprinkler design documentation.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of experience as a plumbing and fire protection systems designer/engineer at MEP engineering consultancy(ies).
• Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or university.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of plumbing and fire protection codes including IPC, UPC, and NSPC.
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement plumbing and sprinkler design documentation.
• Excellent work ethic, attitude, communication, and self-organization skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• EIT certification or PE license, or on track to obtain licensure.
• Experience in direct communication with project stakeholders including architects, owners, and other project consultants.
• Ambitions for career advancement including leadership for the plumbing engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of fire protection (fire sprinkler and fire standpipe) engineering.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr.
