Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description

As a Project Level Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects during both the investigation and construction phases. This includes conducting thorough site investigations, visiting job sites to ensure compliance with engineering standards, and addressing any field project management or engineering issues that arise. You will also be tasked with writing detailed reports and addendums, reviewing plans in the office, and ensuring that all geotechnical aspects of the project are accurately documented and communicated.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects during investigation and construction phases.
• Conduct thorough site investigations.
• Visit job sites to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Address field project management or engineering issues.
• Write detailed reports and addendums.
• Review plans in the office.
• Ensure all geotechnical aspects of the project are accurately documented and communicated.

Essential Skills

• Strong field experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Proficiency in key geotechnical software such as Slide, C-Liq, SHAFT, and Settle 3.
• Experience in slope stability, report writing, and fieldwork.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in site investigations and soil testing.

Work Environment

We are a family-owned small business specializing in geotechnical engineering. Our projects include downtown high rises, schools, hospitals, Caltrans, DSA, and OSHPD. We offer a dynamic and varied work environment, providing ample training and mentorship opportunities with a team of experienced GE and PE professionals. The schedule is generally in-office from Monday to Friday, 9-5, with flexibility based on project requirements and potential for overtime as required by the project.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00
