Role Overview:
In this role, you will:
Work on local and global mining projects.
Design tailing storage facilities for local and global mining projects.
Engage with clients, colleagues, and suppliers on environmentally focused field programs and design solutions.
Work with the latest versions of industry software.
Provide mentorship to staff through the methodologies of tailings storage facility design solutions.
Build client rapport through project development, from feasibility through to mine closure.
Expand your knowledge by attending conferences and trainings.
Be an ambassador for, and potentially become an owner of, the company.
Qualifications:
A degree in civil engineering or geological engineering; a master’s degree is considered an asset.
6 to 13 years of experience in geotechnical engineering (preferably for mining or related industries).
Eligibility to register as a professional engineer in Canada.
Experience in slope stability and seepage analysis; dam design; earthworks and construction; site investigation and laboratory testing of soils and rock.
Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., FLAC, PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
A general understanding of mining-related regulations and industry best practices.
Ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project-based teams.
Experience in a safety-focused environment with near-miss and incident reporting requirements.
Nice to haves
Experience in tailings management and dam safety, including good knowledge of applicable standards and guidelines.
Experience in seismic analysis of dams and related software packages.
Ability to find creative solutions and know how to present them.
Ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
