Responsibilities

• Lead and Inspire: Manage a dedicated team of 8-10 Full-Time Employees (FTEs).
• Optimize Operations: Handle scheduling, workflow, troubleshooting, SOPs, and administrative tasks.
• Hands-On Testing: Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory.
• Technical Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of the principles of tests performed and the equipment used.
• Specialized Work: Focus on hematology, including urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal counts.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot equipment issues, including bidex, ms prime, and virtue incubators.
• Continuous Improvement: Revise policies and procedures as needed and conduct statistical analysis.

Essential Skills

• Certification: NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory Technology.
• Experience: At least 1 year of prior supervisory experience within microbiology.
• Technical Proficiency: Comfortable performing microbiology testing, benchwork, and troubleshooting.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Clinical Expertise: 4 years or more of clinical lab experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferred Certification: ASCP certification is preferred but not required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Health Benefits are effective one month from your date of hire if you are scheduled to work at least 16 hours per week. To ensure coverage, it is required that you make your benefits selections within the 30 days following your date of hire. If your selections are not made on-line within the 30-day period, the Medical Center will assign benefits (default) coverage.
