Job Title: Hydraulic Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Hydraulic Engineer in Alpharetta, GA. This role involves performing engineering design and technical analysis activities with a focus on hydraulic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement modern modeling approaches for pipeline simulations.
• Act as a technical liaison between departments, facilitating collaboration between engineering, operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance teams.
• Analyze existing systems to identify strengths, weaknesses, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement for system optimization.
• Ensure health and safety standards are met.
• Create and analyze hydraulic systems, such as pipelines, pumps, and valves, to ensure efficient fluid flow and pressure management.
• Use computer models and simulations to predict how fluids will behave under different conditions and to optimize system performance.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues within hydraulic systems, such as leaks, blockages, or inefficiencies.
• Ensure that hydraulic systems comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of Hydraulic Engineering experience.
• Proficient with Pipeline Simulation Modeling Software, such as AFT Fathom, DNS SPS, or ANSYS,
• Proficient with fluid mechanics.
• Experience with modeling pipeline simulations.
• Ability to maximize flow rate and ensure safe and efficient day-to-day operations using hydraulic modeling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of AFD Fathom is beneficial.
• Experience in oil and gas pipelines and renewable energy projects like hydroelectric power plants.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work environment with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. The office is located in Alpharetta, GA. The role is primarily desk-based, involving 90% desk work. The company utilizes DNV software for hydraulic modeling and simulation. The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $122000.00/yr.
