Role Overview:
As a Laboratory Technician, you will support the development of various products including raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products for the coatings industry. Your duties will include sample and small batch preparation, physical property measurement, printer operation, and raw material replenishment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory testing on products.
- Manage inventory of all lab supplies and equipment.
- Prepare samples and scale-up batches.
- Purge retains according to retention schedule.
- Maintain an accurate, detailed, and witnessed notebook.
- Ensure cleanliness of the R&D laboratories and print areas.
- Organize storage for consumable materials and replacement parts in the R&D lab according to the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
- Support the product development / R&D team.
- Perform lab equipment maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in chemistry, laboratory, quality control, R&D, biology, troubleshooting, research & development, microbiology, formulation, wet chemistry, analysis, GMP, diagnosis, titration, and lab testing.
- Ability to operate lab equipment such as surface tensiometer, microscope, scales/analytical balances, viscometers, spectrophotometers, conductivity meters, energy curable light sources (UV, LED, E-beam), FTIR, refractive index, and colorimeters.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of industry laboratory experience
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
