Job Title: Instrument Operator
Job Description
This person will be working in an outside setting as a party chief helper. They are responsible for gathering field survey data using Trimble GPS units and working with the other surveyor in the field. Property surveys and construction staking.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily assigned tasks with the Field Crew Coordinator and the Project Manager/Coordinator to ensure successful completion of the assignment.
- Effectively communicate with clients, construction personnel, local authorities, and the general public as needed.
- Assume responsibility for the crew's safety, efficiency, work quality, performance, and equipment.
- Clearly, accurately, and thoroughly record all work performed and conditions encountered using established company procedures and formats.
- Review all information and analyze data to discover any errors or omissions and resolve with office personnel prior to completion.
- Work quickly and efficiently to ensure tasks are completed on time.
- Carefully perform all duties to ensure all tasks are completed as accurately as possible.
- Prioritize the safety of all persons and property at all times.
- Operate total stations, levels, and GPS.
Essential Skills
- Experience with Trimble GPS units
- Ability to operate total stations, levels, and GPS
- 1 year of survey experience
- Construction staking experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with title surveys and tree surveys
- Experience with Trimble Robotics
Work Environment
This person will be working in an outside setting, gathering data and submitting files to the survey office for further review and design. No travel is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
