Description

The primary areas of responsibilities of this position are to provide support for information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) and associated infrastructure including local and wide area networks, industrial control systems, automated meter reading, internet and radio-based communications, telecommunications, surveillance, and related systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Renders services for the purposes of providing potable water - right now has about 35 clients around Morris county.

2. Acquires broad knowledge by developing skills in hardware and software of local and wide area networks, industrial control systems, automated meter reading, internet and radio based communications, telecommunications, surveillance, and related systems.

3. Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment; including intermediate-level abilities to detect, isolate, and resolve automation and communication system problems.

4. Assists with server maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep.

5. Assists with radio-based communication, industrial control systems, and field applications related to industrial control systems.

6. Inventory management and control via spreadsheets and databases.

7. Process, prioritize, and manage IT tickets.

8. Recordkeeping and documentation.

9. Daily technical support, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on all SMCMUA-issued devices.

10. Installation of software applications.

11. Installation of hardware devices such as desktop PCs, printers, smartphones, cameras, radio transmitters, instrumentation, control systems, and communication systems.

12. Performs administrative tasks for the IT Division such as billing, purchases, and requisitions.

13. Receives direction on unusual or difficult problems with a general review of all aspects of work.

14. Coordinate information technology and operations technology infrastructure-related tasks with SMCMUA staff.

15. Functions of this position include work assignments in the ambient atmosphere including extreme cold, hot, wet, or other inclement weather conditions. Once deemed qualified by the IT Director, there will be scheduled 24/7 standby duties with a 60-minute on-site response time. Standby schedules will be rotated evenly with other qualified supervisory staff.

16. Performs related and other duties, as assigned.

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
