Job Title: Lab Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to perform day-to-day duties such as mapping, scanning, pouring off samples, handling pending samples, and locating samples. This role requires comfort working with human samples and previous overnight experience. The ideal candidate will contribute to our cutting-edge laboratory technology and instrumentation across multiple laboratories nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Mapping, scanning, and pouring off samples
- Handling pending samples and locating samples
- Comfortably working with human samples
- Following established protocols for sample preparation, specimen handling, and processing
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous overnight experience
- Comfort working with human samples, including urine
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous medical/laboratory experience
- Certification in phlebotomy, home health aide, or lab tech
- Experience in sample preparation, specimen handling, specimen pickup, and microbiology
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The role involves working in a laboratory setting, handling human samples with appropriate care and following strict protocols. Opportunities for growth are available, and candidates who earn a BS in life sciences in the future can be promoted to technician or technologist roles.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.15/hr.
