What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Actalent?
Actalent is hiring for a laboratory technician in the West Chicago, IL area.
Description:
- Perform standard quality control testing.
- Test production samples for density, gloss meters, viscosity, grind gauges, color, spectroscopy.
- Update SAP with all lab results.
- Review lab results to verify product meets specifications.
- Approve batches for production or put holds on batches that are out of specification.
- Corrective action for all samples out of spec.
- Make effective material additions that ensure product design.
- Supports calibration and equipment verification systems.
- Maintain retain samples.
- Maintains lab equipment.
- Minimize errors through document proofing and review.
- QC lab setting
- Will be working in the lab 100% of the time
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related OR associate's degree lab experience
- Ability to learn and understand procedures for technical and analytical testing.
- SAP experience is a plus
- Experience with viscosity, spectroscopy, density testing is a plus
- Ability to see colors
