Quality Technician
Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will perform daily evaluations and approvals of finished products, process quality checks, and basic microbiological testing. You will be responsible for equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and calculation of dilutions. Additionally, you will conduct ingredient and packaging inspections, maintain inventory control, and sample archives. You will conduct various laboratory tests including solvent extraction, sieving, pH, protein, fiber, fat, ash, microbiological plating, and raw ingredient and finished packaged product testing. Recording and communicating test results with operating departments and management is also part of your role. You will perform in-process quality checks, collect test samples, and ensure the laboratory is kept clean and safe. The ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform mechanical maintenance is essential.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily evaluation and approval of finished products and process quality checks.
- Responsible for equipment calibration, troubleshooting, and calculation of dilutions.
- Conduct ingredient inspections, packaging inspections, and maintain inventory control.
- Maintain sample archives.
- Conduct laboratory tests including solvent extraction, sieving, pH, protein, fiber, fat, ash, microbiological plating, and testing of all raw ingredients and finished packaged products.
- Record test results and communicate findings with operating departments and management.
- Perform in-process quality checks and collect test samples as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment and perform mechanical maintenance.
- Ensure general clean-up work areas to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Essential Skills
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Experience in food manufacturing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong desire to work in a food facility.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
