Job Description

A small-scale lab compounding job in the food and flavor industry typically involves creating and testing flavor formulations on a bench scale. Develop and compound flavors based on specific recipes and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and compound flavors based on specific recipes and customer requirements.
• Weigh and mix raw materials, including chemicals and essential oils, to create flavor batches.
• Conduct sensory evaluations and stability tests to ensure flavor quality and consistency.
• Maintain detailed records of formulations, processes, and test results.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment used in flavor compounding.
• Work closely with R&D teams to develop new flavors and improve existing ones.

Essential Skills

• Pipetting
• Laboratory skills
• Sample management
• Sample preparation
• Chemistry
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field
• 2 years of experience in small scale bench top compounding in the food, flavor, or fragrance industry
• 2 years of pipetting experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work overtime if needed

Work Environment

The position operates in a lab environment, primarily working on a bench top. The lab technician will work directly with 2 R&D techs. The role involves handling ingredients and maintaining lab equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
