Job Description
The current opportunity is an entry-level position, which involves handling multiple projects accurately and on a time-sensitive basis. Principals of Color Measurement Technology, Materials Science, ASTM Standard Specifications, and Historic Preservation Guidelines are applied in the pursuit of high-quality, durable, and compatible solutions to various building restoration challenges.
Responsibilities
- Handle multiple projects accurately and on a time-sensitive basis.
- Apply principles of Color Measurement Technology, Materials Science, ASTM Standard Specifications, and Historic Preservation Guidelines.
- Create and test experiments to solve problems.
- Maintain meticulous record-keeping and documentation.
- Utilize computer skills, including Excel, MS Word, and Photoshop; experience with Color Measurement and Communication software is a plus.
- Perform basic laboratory skills with accuracy in bench-top procedures and documentation.

- Lab etiquette
- Basic knowledge of chemical engineering (color customization is ideal but not required)
- Great problem-solving skills
- Ability to create and test experiments
- Meticulous record-keeping and documentation skills
- Efficient multi-tasking capabilities
- Normal color vision

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- A 4-year degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or Historic Preservation
- Experience with Color Measurement and Communication software is a plus
Work Environment
- The work environment consists of a single lab within a manufacturing environment, which can be loud at times. The role involves working with a small team and directly with skilled chemical engineers. This offers a great opportunity for growth and learning. The president of the company has high expectations for mastery of lab work, with potential for transitioning to a hybrid role involving lab work and office duties, including marketing and customer interaction.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
