Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform wet chemistry techniques and run samples through various instrumentation such as GC, GC/MS, and ICP. The successful candidate will be responsible for submitting reports, coordinating with operation and management teams, and performing daily tasks in a lab setting for an oil recycling company.

Responsibilities

• Perform wet chemistry techniques such as distillations, flash point testing, pH testing, viscosity measurement, and total asset number analysis.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments including GC, GC/MS, and ICP.
• Submit detailed reports through the company's systems.
• Coordinate with operation and management team members to ensure smooth workflow and accurate results.
• Adhere to lab safety protocols and quality control standards.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in GC, GC/MS, ICP, and general chemistry techniques.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology (Chemistry preferred).
• Mechanical aptitude for maintaining lab equipment.
• Strong understanding of lab safety, quality control, and various laboratory techniques such as titration, flash point, pH, and viscosity testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology.
• Preferred experience in a laboratory setting.
• Ability to work with and maintain lab equipment.

Work Environment

During training, candidates will work the day shift from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Post-training, candidates will rotate between three different shifts on a weekly basis: 5:00 am - 2:00 pm (week 1), 7:00 am - 4:00 pm (week 2), and 4:00 pm - 12:00 am (week 3). Candidates will be required to work a weekend shift every third weekend. The work environment is a laboratory setting with a focus on safety and quality control.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
