Job Title: Lab Technologist

Job Description

We are currently seeking Lab Technologist Trainees for the peak season in the consumer genetics department. The lab performs genome-wide and targeted genetic analysis for a range of customers. Candidates will be part of the team that directly helps people learn about their ancestry and understand their genetic health risks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stage, and aliquot specimens for testing
• Work within a high-volume laboratory as part of a dedicated team to ensure patient results are reported within an acceptable turn-around-time
• Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation
• Perform required QC/QA duties which include error detection, maintaining records/logs, and pulling samples for rework

Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced lab environment in the consumer genetics department. The lab receives and processes 300,000 samples a week, and techs handle anywhere from 600-700 samples in a shift. The work site is located in Burlington, NC. Current shifts needed are Monday-Thursday 10 PM to 8:30 AM and Monday-Friday 3 PM to 11:30 PM

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00
