Lead Project Estimator

Job Description

The Lead Project Estimator will be a key member of the inventive and vibrant Estimating Team and will support the design, planning, and budgeting of projects. The ideal candidate has experience in the renewable and/or high voltage transmission industry, a highly developed understanding of construction means and methods, a deep understanding of wind, solar, substation, and transmission construction requirements, robust project management skills, and strong leadership qualities. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams involved in project development, planning, and execution to develop project estimates and improve estimating tools. This is a leadership role within the team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare capital cost estimates
• Review designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness and suggest alternatives, when appropriate
• Coordinate with other departments, ensuring understanding of project objectives and efficient utilization of resources
• Remain current with technology and industry evolution, assuring that capital estimates anticipate the correct market conditions
• Establish, build, and implement metrics for cost and construction estimate checks
• Mentor and develop junior members of the team
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical), Construction Science, or Construction Management
• 7 years of experience
• Strong skills with MS Excel
• Strong preference for candidates with previous experience in renewables or transmission projects
• Skills in estimation, construction, project management, construction management, and transmission line

Work Environment

• This position is based on-site in the corporate office located in Juno Beach.
• The role involves working in a collaborative office setting with cross-functional teams. Per diem is offered for two months. Note that there is no relocation bonus provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
