Job Title: Lead Construction Superintendent
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Construction Superintendent with 5-10 years of experience in construction supervision, including proven expertise in wood frame multifamily construction. The Lead Construction Superintendent will oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and project timelines effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities for wood frame multifamily projects, including site preparation, framing, MEP installations, and finishing work.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met while proactively addressing delays or issues.
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, building codes, and company standards through regular inspections and coordination with quality assurance teams.
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
- Supervise and motivate on-site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to contracts, schedules, and quality expectations.
- Track on-site costs, monitor material usage, and report any budget concerns to the Project Manager.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between on-site teams, project managers, architects, engineers, and clients, providing regular updates on progress and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and other project documentation, including change orders, RFIs, and punch lists.
- Anticipate and resolve on-site challenges, such as material shortages, design conflicts, or unforeseen conditions, with minimal impact to the project timeline.
Essential Skills
- 5-10 years of experience in construction supervision, particularly in wood frame multifamily construction.
- Strong leadership and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and project timelines effectively.
- Expertise in construction management and site construction.
- Proficiency in OSHA standards and safety compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong computer skills.
- 5 years of project management experience in the hospitality, retail, or corporate sectors.
Work Environment
This role is based out of Wilmington, MA but the work will be performed on the job site in Bloomfield, CT. The company operates in the pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases, focusing on cost engineering through to operations and maintenance of the facility. The work environment is customer service-focused, emphasizing collaboration and productivity.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
