Description:
Responsible for providing a supportive role to medical professionals to administer patient care. Responsible for clinical functions on the unit. Specific components of the licensed practical/vocational nurse role include demonstrating clinical competence, managing resident care, and improving quality of care.
Duties:
- Taking a patient’s vital signs, including heart rate or blood pressure
- Assisting Physicians and Nurses throughout examinations by recording a patient’s health information and administering vaccinations/taking blood samples as instructed by Physicians or Nurses.
- Discussing health care issues
Qualifications:
- One - three years' experience
- Graduation from an accredited LVN program
- CA LVN license (LIC LVN)
- Current CPR certification AHA (CT CPRBLS)
- Ability to move quickly from one task to another independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, staff and supervisor.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
