Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and Front office Medical Assistant to join our team. The working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for assisting physicians, escorting patients, recording patient data, and performing various administrative duties.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
- Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtain all necessary patient records as required by physicians prior to treatment or procedures.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures by standing and taking notes.
- Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
- Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and registered nurses.
- Inform physicians of patient reschedules and no-shows.
- Perform other administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception as requested by supervisors or physicians.
Essential Skills
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Experience with Athena software
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification is preferred but non-certified Medical Assistants with previous experience will be considered.
Work Environment
This position is in a busy office environment with a smaller team including front office staff, medical assistants, surgery schedulers, and physicians.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.50
