Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to apply state-of-the-art machine learning tools and algorithms to optimize DoD chemical and biological detection and identification systems. You will work as part of a government scientific research and development team, developing and updating military sensors and detectors. You will also lead the development of some efforts.

Responsibilities

• Develop software applications in Python and apply machine learning techniques to improve the detection and identification of chemical and biological materials.
• Develop, test, train, and maintain applications for developmental sensors and instrumentation.
• Develop and use tools to import, process, and store instrument and sensor data files for use in ML applications.
• Lead small development efforts and mentor junior team members.
• Assist in the testing of systems, train users, and assess system performance.
• Stay current on related subjects in the literature and news.
• Assist with the preparation of reports, journal articles, and presentations.

Essential Skills

• 5 to 9 years of advanced proficiency with Python coding.
• 4 years of ML project experience, including deep learning, NLP, and/or computer vision.
• Advanced proficiency with TensorFlow.
• Experience in another object-oriented programming language (C or JavaScript).
• Advanced proficiency with MySQL databases.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen eligible for a security clearance.

Work Environment

This role requires working on-site in Edgewood, MD at the Army customer building. Benefits include a 401K with up to 4% employer matching contribution, 3 weeks (120 hours/year) Paid Time Off (PTO), Federal holidays, Sick Leave, and comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Short Term/Long Term Disability.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.48 - $50.48/hr.
