Job Title: Mammography Technologist
Location: Harker Heights, TX
Job Summary: The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammography procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging, and providing exceptional patient care. This role involves explaining procedures to patients and their families, proficiently managing patient information, and maintaining effective communication with medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain mammography procedure to patients and their families.
- Perform mammography procedures using appropriate imaging parameters (MAS, KVP, positioning) to deliver quality diagnostic images to the physician.
- Enter and retrieve patient information from PACS and HIS systems.
- Provide minimal nursing care to ensure patient comfort and seek additional assistance when needed.
- Transport patients to and from Imaging Services safely.
- Order supplies to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Prepare and maintain department paperwork accurately.
- Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies for patient care and billing.
- Accurately enter patient charges.
- Release patient information according to policies and procedures.
- Answer telephones courteously and professionally within three rings.
- Schedule patient examinations according to departmental procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in mammography procedure rooms and work areas.
- Maintain effective communication with medical, administrative, nursing staff, and other team members.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Mammography Technology.
- ART Certification.
- Mammography Technologist experience.
- Proficiency in PACS and HIS systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
The Mammography Technologist will work in a hospital setting, interacting with patients, medical staff, and administrative personnel. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
